Filippo Pierini is a Professor and the head of the Pierini Research Group at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw (IPPT PAN). He received his M.Sc. in Advanced Chemical Methodologies with the highest grades and honors (110/110 summa cum laude) in 2009 and his Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2013. He is a materials scientist with a strong interest in nanotechnology, advanced materials and development of scientific instruments. His research activities are very interdisciplinary and span a wide range of experimental areas, including, electrospinning of polymer and composite nanofibers, stimuli-responsive materials, light-matter interaction, hydrogels, and conductive polymers for tissue engineering, brain-machine interface, drug delivery, organic electronics and photovoltaics
