Martina Marinelli research focuses on development and investigation of new organic semiconducting polythiophenes based materials for different applications, such as organic solar cells or biomedical engineering. Currently her work is devoted to the synthesis and study of water-soluble polythiophenes systems to be used in the preparation of conductive polymer hydrogel nanostructures.
Her activities also include the investigation of chiral optically active polymers, in addition to test the photoactivity of intrinsically conjugated polymers in organic solar cells.
