Shahrooz Zargarian is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences (IPPT PAN). He is an expert on the fabrication of super hydrophilic durable drug-loaded electrospun scaffolds and innovative methods to overcome the shortcomings of conventional core-shell electrospinning setups. Moreover, the surfactant-assisted-water-exposed method developed by Dr. Zargarian was used to create a pulsatile drug release pattern from electrospun nanofibers. Inspired by natural matrices' topology, Shahrooz Zargarian also investigated electrospun scaffolds' fabrication with microporous structures for bone tissue engineering. Furthermore, he studied hydroxyapatite and halloysite surface modification for improving nanoparticle dispersion in solvent media. His postdoc activities include developing bioactive electrospun nanomaterials for neural tissue engineering and enhancing treatments, which can overcome the limitations of conventional neurological diseases, disorders, and therapies injuries.
